                What is a master alloy? When it comes to master alloys, most of them think of aluminum master alloys, aluminum-based master alloys, aluminum peptide master alloys, aluminum silicon master alloys, and so on. These are all kinds of master alloys. So, what is a master alloy?

                Master alloy is a special alloy that is made of simple substance to make it easy to be added to the alloy to solve problems such as burning loss and high melting point alloys that are not easy to melt. At the same time, special alloys that have little effect on raw materials are called master alloys. For example, the alloy formed after mixing red copper and A00 aluminum 1:1 is relatively easy to put into zinc water for mixing. In addition to steel, cast iron, high-temperature alloys, and aluminum alloys, master alloys also have various base alloys and additives required for smelting other metal materials, and cannot be used directly as metal materials.

                Use of master alloy:

                1. Obtain a metal material with fine chemical composition and uniform distribution. For example, adding elements with less content in the metal material components can improve the uniformity of the added elements in the material. For example, use vanadium aluminum alloy to add vanadium to smelt Ti-6A1-4V alloy.

                2. Add chemically active elements, low melting point and volatile elements. Such as intermediate alloys of boron, calcium and magnesium. The use of a master alloy can reduce the burning loss of the elements when they are added, and obtain a stable alloy composition and a higher element yield.

                3. Add high melting metal. Master alloys such as tungsten, molybdenum, titanium, niobium, chromium, etc. can lower the melting temperature, shorten the smelting time and lower the smelting temperature of metal materials.

                4. The use of master alloy can add multiple elements at the same time, so that the refining and alloying of the smelted alloy can be completed at the same time. Simplify the smelting operation and shorten the refining time.

                5. The use of pure master alloy can reduce the impurity content in metal materials. For example, master alloys with "VQ" grade are used for vacuum smelting.

                6. Reduce the production cost of metal materials. The requirements for the master alloy are as low as possible melting point, uniform chemical composition, small segregation, no visible non-metallic inclusions, low gas content, and impurity content that must meet the requirements of the metal material to be smelted, easy to break and not deteriorate when stored in the air.
